Chair's Report

Each year Therapy Focus produces an Annual Review that showcases its work, performance, and people of the past year.

It is an important opportunity to look back at what we have achieved and serves as a record for those who follow in our footsteps. These reflections also serve to highlight the foundations upon which Therapy Focus is built; our Guiding Principles that include Stronger Together, Make Today Count, Be Courageous, Keep it Simple, Be Exceptional and Make it Personal.

In looking back on past reports, a wonderful story of growth and development is apparent on many levels. On a customer level we celebrate people achieving their goals; at a staff level we support people to be exceptional in their work roles; and at an organisation level we are evolving to meet the needs of our stakeholders and the communities we serve.

It is also evident that these last few years have been some of the most difficult we have faced at Therapy Focus. This is a reality we acknowledge and consider when making decisions in the best interests of our organisation.

One of the highlights of the past 12 months has been witnessing Therapy Focus respond so positively to the leadership of our new CEO Alison Kelly, who started with us in August 2022. Alison has diligently and respectfully undertaken a process of getting to know our people and our business, reshaping the management team she works closely with, and outlining a clear plan for business transformation. We are delighted to see such a positive response.

Operating within the NDIS environment continues to be a challenge, as evidenced by our financial performance over the past year. We are part of a strong national advocacy network that has a constructive relationship with the NDIA, and believe the life-changing work we do is a story that needs to be told. This will be a focus for us in the coming year.

On behalf of my Board colleagues, I would like to thank you for your loyalty to Therapy Focus and your commitment to being part of an extraordinary journey with us.

Our Guiding

Principles

Stronger together

We listen, share and collaborate. By working together and combining our diverse knowledge, skills and experiences, we can achieve the extraordinary.

Make today count

We view every day as an opportunity to make our mark and have an impact. We are intentional with our time and prioritise the things that really matter.

Keep it simple

We strive to make things manageable and uncomplicated, keeping tasks and interactions as simple as possible for all involved.

Be courageous

We meet challenges with innovation, questioning the status quo and thinking outside the box. We are prepared to have difficult conversations and know that growth happens outside the comfort zone.

Make it personal

We care for our customers and colleagues, forming connections and taking personal responsibility for the contributions we make every day.

Be exceptional

We push the boundaries but never compromise our standards. We champion continuous improvement in all that we do, and conduct ourselves with integrity.

“We are part of a strong national advocacy network that has a constructive relationship with the NDIA, and believe the life-changing work we do is a story that needs to be told.”
